Extended Range Diver
The TDI Extended Range Course will train the diver to conduct planned decompression dives to 180′. This course focuses on the planning, and problem solving required for conducting dives to these depths without the use of helium to offset the narcosis. This course is challenging, but very rewarding!
The Extended Range course will cover topics and skills such as
- Equipment requirements and configurations
- Decompression planning and gas management
- Use of (2) decompression gases and stage cylinders
- Problem solving and planning for emergencies at depth and under the influence of narcosis
- Buddy rescue
- TDI Extended Range Diving Manual or Extended Range eLearning Course
- 18 years old
- TDI Deompression Procedures Certified or equivalent
- Proof of 100 logged dives (25 of which must be deeper than 100′)
- DAN Master insurance or equivalent required.
- Backmount or sidemounted twin cylinder with harness and wing
- (2) AL40s oxygen clean cylinders with regulators
- (2) Computers or bottom timers
- Exposure suit appropriate for cold water diving
- Reel and liftbag or dsmb
- (2) Cutting devices
- Slate
- Compass
- (2) Lights
- Backup bouyancy device (drysuit, liftbag, or dual bladder wing)
- Backup mask
